Committees & Engagement
Collaboration is at the heart of our identity and essential to how we work as a team. With that in mind, we have formed a range of committees to collectively engage the needs of our community. Whether it’s addressing how we relate interpersonally or ensuring the safety of everyone in the building, these teams are committed to the ongoing health, growth, and sustainability of The Seattle School. Institutional Assessment Committee
This committee consists of at least two voting faculty members, the Associate Dean of Teaching & Learning, the Associate Registrar, and the Director of Institutional Assessment. The committee is charged with providing leadership, guidance, education, structure, and support to improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning at The Seattle School and for ensuring that the assessment processes meet the requirements of accrediting institutions.

Academic Policies Committee
This committee consists of at least two voting faculty members and the Registrar. The committee oversees all affairs related to the academic program at The Seattle School.

Academic Services Committee
This committee consists of at least three voting faculty members, including the Director of Library Services. The committee oversees faculty participation in all non-academic aspects of the institutional life of The Seattle School.

Intercultural Credibility Committee
This committee (ICC) meets bi-weekly with the responsibility to resource and equip employees to cultivate safety, inclusion, representation, and advocacy to enable members of The Seattle School community to thrive across all cultures and identities.

Investment Committee
The Investment Committee meets semi-annually with the responsibility of reviewing the 403(b) employee retirement plan, reviewing funds and performance and proposing changes as needed.

Institutional Review Board
The Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviews all Human Subjects research conducted through The Seattle School. The IRB reviews all research projects to ensure that participants are well informed, that safety measures have been taken to protect participant safety and privacy, and that data collection is done with the highest levels of integrity.

Safety Committee
The Safety Committee meets quarterly with the purpose of monitoring building issues, ensuring OSHA compliance, reviewing injury reports, and keeping our workplace free of hazards.

Student Development Committee
The Student Development Committee (SDC) is a group of administrative and instructional staff that exists to create inter-departmental awareness of students who are struggling at The Seattle School.

Student Services Committee
The Student Services Team exists to steward the student life cycle from prospective student through graduation.
