Manager Resources
As part of the Human Resources Department’s mission to foster deep, long-term organizational health by caring for and empowering everyone who work at The Seattle School, we have provided the following resources to help managers effectively lead and engage their employees. If you can’t find what you need or have followup questions about any of the forms, checklists, or guides, please send us a message using the message found at the bottom of this page.
Recruiting & HiringAn independent contractor is a separate business entity, not an employee of The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology. Independent contractors are not eligible for employee benefits and are responsible for filing their own self-employment and income taxes. The Seattle School employee who works with the independent contractor has the title of designated school representative. The first step in determining whether or not the individual you are looking to make a work agreement with is an employee or an independent contractor is completing the questionnaire in step 1 below. In collaboration with the HR Director, if the questionnaire yields the independent contractor result, the designated school representative will be responsible for completing the forms in steps two and three for the Human Resources Department, as well as distributing and collecting the forms from steps four through eight to the independent contractor. After these steps have been completed HR will create a work agreement and distribute it to the involved parties for signatures.
