Misty Anne Winzenried, PhD
Dr. Misty Anne Winzenried is the Dean of the Graduate School. Since joining the school in 2019, she has supported the development curriculum and instructional team, led advancements in assessment and accreditation, and overseen the launch of new and revised programs. She collaborates with faculty and staff to ensure the educational mission of The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology.
Misty Anne earned her MA in Counseling from The Seattle School (then Mars Hill Graduate School) in 2004, and her PhD in Education from the University of Washington–Seattle in 2016. With 20 years of experience in higher education, Misty Anne has taught in interdisciplinary contexts and worked in a range of administrative roles in higher education. Prior to her tenure at The Seattle School, she served as Interim Dean for Student Learning at Cascadia College and Director of Odegaard Writing & Research Center at UW–Seattle.
Misty Anne’s calling is supporting ongoing faculty development around teaching excellence and equitable teaching practices. As a qualitative researcher, she studies the teaching and learning of writing in the academic disciplines and has published scholarship in Across the Disciplines and Composition Forum. Outside of work, Misty Anne can be found hiking in the Cascades with her son.
