Sam Lee
Sam Lee graduated from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology with a Master of Divinity in 2007 and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology in 2013. He served in pastoral ministry for over a decade before stepping into the counseling field, where his deep curiosity about the intersection of story, theology, and psychology continues to shape his work.
As Director of Training at The Allender Center, Sam provides strategic leadership and oversight for all NFTC Model training programs. He leads the NFCT Leadership Team responsible for facilitator development, curriculum and instruction, program and learner experience, and research and evaluation. In this role, Sam champions excellence and innovation in teaching and training, ensuring that the ethos and integrative framework of Dr. Dan Allender remain at the heart of every offering.
As a second-generation Chinese-American, Sam also inhabits what he describes as a “third domain”: the in-between space of social, cultural, and identity intersections. He has found this in-between to be the sacred ground where much of the most meaningful therapeutic and spiritual work occurs.
Sam currently resides in Austin, Texas, where he engages in story work through his private practice, Sam Lee Counseling.
