Gene Kim, MBA, CPA
Gene Kim brings extensive experience and history in senior-level global finance and operations to his role as the Executive Vice President of Finance & Administration at The Seattle School. With an MBA from Darden Graduate School of Business and a Washington State CPA license, he has proven success supervising teams and influencing diverse, cross-functional groups. His deep acumen in finance and accounting is based in his data-driven outlook and in understanding “the story behind the numbers”. Prior to joining The Seattle School, Gene navigated large, fast-paced environments and matrixed organizational structures, excelling in superior project management skills and the ability to work under intensive deadline pressure. With his passion for analyzing internal operations, his executive leadership includes strengths in technology/finance integration, process improvement initiatives, and managing nonprofit organizations.
Gene has personally experienced racism and bigotry and he can relate to the pain. He affectionately includes his four-legged children, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, in his family along with his two adult children. Deeply committed to their faith and church life, Gene and his wife live in Bellevue.
