Arlene Hudson, MDiv

Arlene Hudson is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in education and ministry. She is currently serving as an Assistant Adjunct Professor at Howard University Divinity School in Washington, DC since August 2020, and her tenure will continue until 2023. Prior to this role, she gained valuable experience as a Summer Adjunct Intern at the same institution from June 2021 to June 2022.

Arlene’s educational journey reflects her commitment to personal and professional growth. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at Emory University Candler School of Theology. She holds a Master of Divinity degree from Howard University Divinity School, which she completed in May 2022. Additionally, Arlene pursued theological studies at Duke University Divinity School from May 2017 to May 2019.

Before dedicating herself to ministry, Arlene had a successful career in education. She spent 27 years as an Elementary School teacher and an additional 5 years as a Principal. After retiring from her educational role, she felt a calling to pursue ministry and returned to school to follow her passion. Arlene is proud to be a mother to one daughter who is also a teacher, exemplifying the importance of education and service within her family.

Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Arlene’s diverse experiences and educational background have shaped her into a compassionate and dedicated individual. She brings her wealth of knowledge and practical experience to her role as an Assistant Adjunct Professor, where she continues to inspire and empower future ministry leaders.
