Bethany Robbins

As a childbirth doula, Bethany believes no one can birth your story for you. She is passionate about inviting, guiding, and journeying with those who have stepped into the depths of their own story with curiosity and kindness. In group work, Bethany primarily draws on her ten years of experience with laboring women, her six years as a foster parent, and time spent traveling and living abroad (throughout Europe, Uganda, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Malawi). She has her BA in Psychology and thoroughly enjoys facilitating Cert I and II groups with the Allender Center. Bethany currently lives in Nkhoma, Malawi where she trains lay counselors at a residential rehabilitation home for girls who have been sexually abused and trafficked. She longs to see more counselors trained throughout Malawi and encourages them to further their studies in order to add their experiences and perspectives to the global conversation around trauma and abuse.

Bethany can often be found reading aloud to children in her home library which she shares with the community (her happy place). She loves traveling the world with her husband and three children, will read any book recommended to her, and is always prepared for a dance party in the kitchen.
