Dr. Roy Barsness on Tour: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Dr. Roy Barsness, Professor of Counseling Psychology at The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology—and dynamic and passionate teacher, therapist, and human—will be at Mindful Counseling GR on June 16 to present on his most recent book, Core Competencies of Relational Psychoanalysis, a clear and concise handbook of relationally-oriented psychotherapy. Using his extensive research, years as a therapist, and the experiences of those gathered, Dr. Barsness will focus on seven core competencies: therapeutic outcome; therapeutic stance; deep listening/affective attunement; relational dynamics; patterning and linking; conflict; and courageous speech/discipline spontaneity.
The workshop will offer participants the opportunity to reflect upon their own practices within their vocation and deepen their understanding of the theory and disciplines of relationally-oriented psychotherapy. This workshop is practical and, thus, open to practitioners of all types (therapists, artists, pastors, consultants, baristas, etc.), and is intended to broaden participants’ professional skills while also inviting them to consider how to continue becoming more fully human.
Participation in this event is free. Five CEU seat hours are available for $125. Please RSVP by email to Bryan Nixon.
