Community Activities

Come and explore the city with us! There will be several different community events to choose from where you will get to explore Seattle’s different neighborhoods and see just what this city has to offer. Whether grabbing coffee at Macrina or taking a ferry to one of the islands, there will be various locations, time commitments, prices, and activity levels for you to choose from.

Outing to the Zoo
Join Michael Forrester on an excursion to the Woodland Park Zoo! Meet at the zoo at 10:30am on Friday morning. The Seattle School will pay half the price of your ticket!

Hiking on Bainbridge
Get to know one of Seattle’s best features, a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island and a hike, one of the PNW’s favorite passtimes. Take the Bainbridge Ferry at 9:15AM. If you’re already in the Kitsap area, meet downtown Bainbridge at 10:15AM. Make sure to dress for the weather!

Walking Tour of the Seattle Center and Sculpture Park
Meet Sunny Jansma at 1:00pm at The Seattle School to go on a walking tour of Sculpture Park, the Seattle Center, the Museum of Pop Culture and end with grabbing coffee and a snack!

Board games & drinks at Cafe Mox in Ballard
Join Michelle Jones at 1:00-3:30pm for board games and drinks at Cafe Mox in Ballard. This is a great space where you can play games for free while you hang out in the cafe.

Community Weekend is a series of events designed to welcome new students to The Seattle School, and to reorient returning students and the larger Seattle School community to a new academic year.
