This summer, The Seattle School will be a sponsor at the Wild Goose Festival, an annual gathering grounded in faith-inspired social justice and the arts. This event in Union Grove, North Carolina is a special opportunity for us to connect with others across the country who are passionate about reimagining ways to gather around faith and discourse.
The festival is full of artistry, music, dancing, creativity, and play along with opportunities to connect with thought leaders and visionaries. Many speakers at Wild Goose have also participated in The Seattle School community including:
- A Brave Lament, a short film, co-created by Seattle School alumnus Andrew J. Bauman will be played during the festival.
- Dr. Roberto Che Espinoza came to our campus last year to share about his new book, Body Becoming. He will be speaking on Becoming Fugitive at the End of Empire and Becoming a Better Body Together at the festival.
- Brian D McLaren, a previous Seattle School board member and continual friend to the school, will also be co-leading Climate Justice Camp alongside Bill McKibben, Melanie Griffin, and B Fulkerson.
Ginger Terrell, MA in Theology & Culture 2023 graduate and Center for Transforming Engagement alum, will be attending the event alongside Lauren Peiser, Manager of Business Development.
