November 15th marked the beginning of The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology’s end of year campaign, God With Us. During this season of Advent, we are moved to gratitude as we acknowledge the impact of our generous donors and committed students.  We believe God is with us in this work, and it is in this season that we pray for provision to affirm and move our mission forward.  President Keith Anderson commenced the God With Us campaign in a reflective letter to invite current and potential donors to partner with the mission of The Seattle School by making a year end gift.

“It turns out that God speaks in wild and strange ways, in thunderous ways but also in the surprise of the ordinary in voices we recognize because they sound like people we know, live with, work with, and love…. What will we hear if we listen for the living presence of God in ordinary places?  At The Seattle School we practice that kind of listening everyday as our prayer chimes sound at nine, noon, and three.  They are an audible, daily, frequently interrupting reminder of Advent, God with us—extraordinary in the ordinary.” – Dr. Keith R. Anderson, President

As part of the God With Us campaign, The Seattle School will be participating in #GivingTuesday on December 2nd. #GivingTuesday is a social movement, founded in New York in 2012, to celebrate giving and respond to the messages and spirit of consumerism found in Black Friday and Cyber Monday following Thanksgiving.  #GivingTuesday at The Seattle School will invite future and prospective donors to allow the interruption of Advent into their lives, remember God With Us, and respond to the invitation to give.  The Seattle School hopes to raise $3,000 on December 2nd to fund student scholarships.

The Seattle School is also giving back to its community during this season of giving through a series of Advent reflections written by faculty, staff, students, and alumni.  Beginning Sunday, November 30th, six Advent reflections will be sent out, concluding with a reflection from Dr. Dan B. Allender on Christmas Eve. You and your loved ones are invited to join The Seattle School during this season of holy preparation, anticipation, waiting, and interruption.
