What does it take to move from talking about anti-racism to building communities where equity, belonging, and meaningful change can happen? Dr. Paul Hoard, PhD, LMHC, Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology, and Dr. Ron Ruthruff, DMin, Professor of Theology & Culture, explore what it takes for churches, schools, agencies, and other organizations to move beyond statements of solidarity and toward anti-racist practices that are tangible, accountable, and rooted in the experiences of their communities.

Drawing from both psychology and theology, Drs. Hoard and Ruthruff will examine some of the dynamics that can keep organizations from confronting uncomfortable realities and creating meaningful change. They consider how policies, relationships, and everyday practices can either reinforce inequity or help cultivate greater belonging and inclusion. This conversation grows out of three years of grappling with these questions within a theological institution. Rather than offering easy, palatable answers, this webinar invites us to ask better questions about what credible anti-racist practice looks like—and what it takes to sustain that work over time.
