An Alternate Rendering of Jerusalem
Lisa Daley shares a portrait of Jerusalem that reflects her experience of feeling unfinished—caught between the birth of Christ and the coming restoration.
Lisa Daley is a second-year MA in Counseling Psychology student most recently from Raleigh, North Carolina. She is a curious world traveler and lover of beauty. Painting is Lisa’s way of bringing order out of chaos, saying the unsayable, and allowing what is interior to be seen and heard. Each color has its own musicality. As Lisa starts to put down one note, then another, noodling around a bit, eventually a rhythm emerges forming a melody—or in this case a lament.
