Hannah Straub, MA

Hannah is a Hebrew Bible scholar and writer who is fascinated by the ways language and interpretation shape how we understand sacred texts, ourselves, and each other.

At The Seattle School, Hannah serves as a Writing Center Consultant, supporting students through the beautiful, messy process of academic writing. Having tutored writing for over seven years, she loves creating spaces where people can wrestle honestly with difficult ideas, discover new ways of seeing, and find their own voice. With a BA in English Literature & Psychology, as well as an MA in Hebrew Bible, Hannah brings a love of narrative and a deep understanding of academic writing.

Born and raised in rainy Washington, she has spent the past two years researching interfaith reconciliation in Jerusalem. Alongside her work at The Seattle School, she serves as a Jewish Studies Fellow at Paideia – The European Institute for Jewish Studies, exploring the impact of trauma on communities’ interpretation of Scripture.

When not studying or teaching, you can find her lost in a library, hiking through the woods, or perfecting a cup of hot chocolate.
