Connie Montgomery, MA

Connie has been an Instructional Assistant (IA) with the Seattle School since September 2021 working with the first nonresident MACP student cohort. She has assisted with History and Systems, Human Development, Ethics, Group Therapy: The Healing Context of Community and Family Systems. She earned her Masters of Education in Counseling from Seattle University and attended Oregon State University for her Masters of Education in College Student Services Administration. She has spent most of her career working in higher education with adult learners at the University of Washington in the Evening Degree Completion Program as the Academic Services Director.

The beautiful transformation that occurs when students learn is the most meaningful part of her work. Collaborating with them in seeing and naming their transformation is central to her mission. The intersection of spirituality and psychology has been at the core of her educational philosophy and the lens through which she sees all of human growth and development. Being an IA for The Seattle School students is a wonderful opportunity to be a part of their becoming. She has developed and taught undergraduate coursework in exploring research and mindful leadership. Her recent exploration of art and its healing power has become one of her passions, leading her to develop soul card workshops. In her spare time she explores all forms of visual arts, time in nature, time with friends and family and her fur child Ivy.
