The Nourish Market is The Seattle School Bookstore and so much more! As incoming students you are embarking on quite the journey and we want to help you take care of yourself along the way.
Last year, the Office of Students & Alumni conducted surveys about The Seattle School Bookstore, and after listening, dreaming, and planning, we were thrilled to launch the new and improved Nourish Market—a space dedicated to feeding your mind, body, and soul. This Market offers healthy food selections, including more vegan and gluten-free options, smoothies, and a salad bar.
Swag
Want to rock The Seattle School logo and celebrate your new community? We’ve got super soft hoodies, some great ceramic mugs, and very cool glass water bottles.
Books
We make it easy for you to order your textbooks online – just visit Textbooks. You can order your books ahead of time and have the cost deducted from your financial aid stipend. Your book order will be packaged up, delivered to the school’s front desk, and be waiting for you on the first day of school. How great is that?! Just look for information at store.theseattleschool.edu and in the school newsletter. Also, Nourish Market carries used books, and holds book buy-backs for current students.
Gifts
We have quite a few artists in our community, and Nourish Market stocks some of their creations. We have RENOVATEDBOOKS – journals made from old books – by alumnus Mike Menconi; local honey harvested by beekeeper, alumnus and staff Phil Doud; handcrafted necklaces and earrings by alumna Colleen Barrows; Luchair Pottery by MACP student Samantha Davis; Dandelion & Tea body care products by Ruth Nellis and Heather Shaver, friends and family of The Seattle School; Urban Made desk gardens by MACP student Jordan Dowell; and lots, lots more. Maybe you’d like to add your own handcrafted items to this list as well? It’s easy. Just come into Nourish Market and chat about it with our friendly staff!
Treats
Need some chocolate? You’re covered. Left your lunch on the kitchen counter? Not to worry. Skipped breakfast? Come on in!
During the cold, rainy months, a hot bowl of locally-sourced soup from Got Soup? can be magical (vegetarian and vegan options available). Treat yourself to the Macrina Bakery cookies, gluten-free biscuits, and soup rolls or Theo Chocolate’s irresistible organic fair trade chocolate bars or their delicious gluten-free, dark chocolate peanut butter cups.
We can’t wait to meet you. Come on in and introduce yourself. Nourish Market, The Seattle School Bookstore, is open Monday – Wednesday, 10am-4pm.
Warmly,
Linda Ruthruff
