Pastoring the Scattered During Holy Week

As an expression of our deep commitment to serving Cascadia through serving church leaders, you are invited to join us and other pastors, ministry leaders, and spiritual workers of the Cascadia region to connect and share support in an online conversation: Watching from a Distance: Pastoring the Scattered During Holy Week.

Pastoral leaders often take on the role of gathering others, creating community, and caring for the social and spiritual needs of the collective. However, in the coronavirus crisis, we must remain at a distance, even as we bear witness together. At the crucifixion, the gospel writers tell us of the community that gathers, even from a distance, to bear witness to the betrayal and death of Christ.

Join a community of leaders as we prepare together to “watch from a distance” the events of Holy Week and the celebration of Easter. This online conversation* is an opportunity to share and receive mutual support with those outside your primary work context/denomination.

*Hosted via ZOOM video conferencing

“Many women were also there, watching from a distance; they followed Jesus from Galilee and had provided for him. Among them were Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.”
-Gospel of Matthew
