Sacred Space seeks to create and enter space to rest, wrestle, and play in relationship with God, ourselves, and each other.
Sacred Space nurtures, sojourns with, and listens to the rhythms of the spiritual life of The Seattle School, our local community, the global church, and beyond by curating and stewarding these realms:
- The Seattle School liturgical calendar reflecting the “work of the people” in our community, the global church and social-global advocacy.
- Community gatherings for worship, reflection, and conversation.
- Fostering student, spouse, faculty, and staff relationships.
- Supporting student-led spiritual practice groups.
Stewarding the Chapel
Sacred Space creates and stewards the chapel space for prayer, communion, rest, meditation, play, and worship.
Sacred Space cultivates an environment for artistic expression, engagement, and reflection collaborating with artists both inside and outside our walls.
The 2nd floor exhibits local artists, introducing The Seattle School to the greater community and inviting the greater community to The Seattle School. The 3rd floor exhibits artists from The Seattle School, providing opportunities for students, spouses, staff and faculty to display art for exposure and engagement.
Receptions connect The Seattle School community with art and artists through dialogue, education, and provocation.
Annual Art Auction
Annually, The Seattle School provides an opportunity for artists to sell arts and crafts and give some proceeds of their sales to a local/global cause.
