Dana Scannell, PhD
As an Organizational Psychologist and President of Scannell & Wight, a boutique international consulting firm providing Leadership and Team Development, Executive Coaching, and Organizational Effectiveness, Dana advises senior executives as an executive coach and counselor for both corporate and nonprofit clients. His practice focuses on developing executive leadership and organizational competencies, strengthening the engagement of their people, and aligning their teamwork and organizational effectiveness. He also maintains an active academic practice teaching and coaching at the UCLA Anderson School of Management and coaches at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. Building on years of experience as a seasoned leader and executive, along with expertise in Organizational Psychology and Organizational Development, he holds a deep conviction that the key to success in any organization is to identify, develop, and strengthen the abilities of people to help them unleash their full potential.
Dana has a PhD in Psychology with an emphasis on Organizational Psychology and the Development of Human Potential from the University of Southern California, an MA in Counseling Psychology from Pepperdine University, and a BS in Business Administration majoring in Communications from Babson College. He is a Birkman Master Certified Professional, Senior Facilitator, and Master Trainer, as well as a Certified Coach. He was drawn to The Seattle School’s mission of integrating theology and psychology through the Allender Center where he completed an Advanced Counseling Certificate and an Externship in Narrative Focused Trauma Care.
Dana is an ordained minister and plays piano and keys on the worship team at church. In his free time, Dana loves spending quality time with family and friends. As a pilot who has a lifelong fascination with airplanes and travel, he looks forward just as much to the flight as to the destination. He enjoys serving others by chairing two nonprofit boards, and mentoring pastors and church leaders.
