Summary
The Graphic Designer supports the Marketing & Communications team in curating the holistic aesthetic of the mission and brand of The Seattle School and stewards the graphic representation through a multichannel approach.
Essential Functions
The Graphic Designer is responsible to:
- Produce powerful and appealing multichannel designs (any static images for print or digital applications) that can be used across platforms (print, web, digital, and social media).
- Design and maintain media kit templates and packages for events, campaigns, and initiatives.
- Design programs, handbooks, PDF downloadables, and other various long-form content designs
- Design and maintain various design templates such as branded slides, social media posts, thumbnails, etc.
- Handle revisions, file prep, and print and digital production of final artwork.
- Implement user interface/experience best practices to provide insightful suggestions for optimum results for all design elements.
- Assure all work meets goals and deadlines while maintaining brand aesthetic and standards.
- In collaboration with the Director of Marketing & Communications, revise and maintain brand and design standards for all initiatives, centers, etc. within The Seattle School.
- Participate in campaign/initiative/project kickoff, execution, after-action meetings, and overall participation in the campaign
- Assist with publishing and formatting media (images, videos, etc.) across all websites
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree, with 2-3 years of relevant work experience, and examples of recent work.
- Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, and Illustrator)
- Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) and associated media requirements and best practices.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and make changes.
- Ability to contribute individually, and participate in cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity and appreciation for the mission and values of The Seattle School.
