Field Experience Coordinator

Average Hours per Week: 10 - 40 hours monthly (varies seasonally)
Summary
This role works collaboratively with the Internship Director, Registrar, Director of Student & Academic Services, relevant faculty & staff, and Field Experience sites in order to provide students with well-organized and rich learning experiences outside of the classroom. In particular, the Field Experience Coordinator supports the development of counseling internships in Washington, other states, and a few international sites for our Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology program.
Essential Functions
The Field Experience Coordinator is responsible for:
Site Development & Coordination
- Reviewing and approving student-identified sites, including vetting according to internship site criteria as defined in school policies.
- When needed, completing advanced site vetting, including meetings with site supervisors and interns for the purpose of establishing active working relationships (approximately 10-20 per year).
- Developing approximately 3-5 international sites per year.
Student Internship Preparation & Support
- Co-hosting & co-facilitating annual Orientations and information sessions.
- Co-planning & co-facilitating the annual Internship Fair.
- Supporting students with regard to the field experience process and placement.
- Providing ongoing support for internship students with prospective site research, forms, and processes for completion of their required clinical training.
- Supporting Global Internship applicants, including reviewing global internship applications and conducting interviews.
- Hosting monthly check-in meetings with global internship students for ongoing support.
- Supporting the Internship Program Team (i.e., faculty, staff, director, etc.) with interventions as needed.
Administrative
- Maintaining and publishing student-facing handbooks in collaboration with the faculty and Registrar as appropriate.
- Supporting record keeping for established internship sites and administratively supporting new site development.
- Working with the Registrar to maintain MACP Vocational Assessment Planning forms and data in collaboration with MACP faculty and the Dean the Graduate School.
- Working with the Registrar to track, collect, and review all required student forms.
- Working with faculty, Student Academic Services team, and Instructional Designer to ensure that the appropriate links, documents, and assignments related to Field Experience are embedded in relevant course sections in the LMS.
- Participating in and collaborating with committees that plan, develop and evaluate student services, retention and student life concerns such as the Student Services Committee and Student Development Committee.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (or similar clinical degree) required.
- Self-directed worker.
- Meticulous organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to provide timely, responsive, and clear communication with multiple constituencies.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
- A commitment to collaborate with administrative staff, faculty, students, and external partners (internship sites).
- Technical skills in all Google programs, campus technology, Zoom, and aptitude to learn new technology and programs independently.
- Ability to manage multiple systems simultaneously i.e. multiple calendars, reporting procedures, internal technology systems.
- Previous experience with Learning Management Systems; Populi experience is a plus.
- Familiarity and appreciation for the mission and values of The Seattle School.
Compensation & Benefits
The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology provides a competitive total compensation package, aligned with the nonprofit market. The pay range for this position is $34.00 – $36.00 per hour (DOE). We also offer a flexible, supportive environment with colleagues committed to a common mission. While the work location preference is local/hybrid, this work could also be fully remote (for candidates in a state we have payroll (AK, CO, GA, IL, NC, PA, TN, TX, WA).
