Summary
The Admissions Assistant is a student employment, work study position. The Assistant works directly with the Director of Enrollment and the Manager of Enrollment in stewarding day-to-day operations, planning events, and facilitating recruitment communications for programs and offerings in the graduate school, Allender Center, and Center for Transforming Engagement. The admissions process at The Seattle School is intentionally designed to provide a robust experience of the community’s mission, ethos, culture, and curriculum. The ideal applicant is a collaborator who values open communication, works creatively and proactively, and is capable of stewarding multiple functions within the broader vision and strategy of the department.
Essential Functions
The Admissions Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to key functions of the Office of Enrollment, including:
- Triaging inbound and outbound email and phone communication to inquiries, applicants, accepted applicants and enrolled students
- Processing applications, including: entering data; filing documents; and promptly communicating with applicants
- Recording and maintaining accurate contact information, relevant data, relationship context, and application data with thorough attention to detail utilizing a Customer Relationship Management system (CRM)
- Administering a project management tool and maintaining best practices in its utilization
- Converting inquiries to applicants by executing call campaigns, mailings, and other targeted recruitment strategies
- Scheduling campus visits and give tours to visiting prospective students
- Collaborating with the Office of Enrollment to plan and implement Previews, Group Interviews, and other recruitment events
- Stewarding interdepartmental relationships and collaboration, including reserving space or equipment and scheduling meetings
- Safeguarding the confidentiality of student, staff, and School information by exercising discretion in communicating information to faculty, staff, alumni, and current and prospective students, and in handling departmental records and files and similar confidential materials
- Working efficiently and diligently on assignments received from the Office of Enrollment, which can include but are not limited to projects such as database management; mailings; copying and filing; making travel arrangements; event coordination

- Bachelor’s degree

Compensation & Benefits
$17.27 per hour. Student employees are exempt from FICA tax (7.65%) when enrolled in classes, making the effective hourly rate $18.70 (Sep-Jun, or when enrolled).
