Leading Well in Change and Renewal with Dr. Margaret Wheatley

Many conversations about leadership—especially in nonprofit and Church realms—revolve around surviving and efficiency tools to manage the day-to-day challenges without burning out or losing our sense of calling. At this event with consultant and author Dr. Margaret Wheatley, we will discuss reclaiming leadership as a relational role that creates possibility and humaneness in the midst of increasing fear and turmoil, and we’ll work toward developing a new relationship with disorder to remain open to growth.

Meg Wheatley, Ed.D., is the author of several books—including the classic Leadership in the New Science—that help inform our understanding of the practices that foster sustainable, generative leadership. We’re grateful for the opportunity to join her in conversation as we continue partnering with churches and organizations to study resilience and equip leaders for long-term service through the Resilient Leaders Project.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to use your power, influence, insight, and compassion to lead people back to an understanding of who we are as human beings, to create the conditions for our basic human qualities of generosity, contribution, community, and love to be evoked. After the event, pastors are invited to join the Resilient Leaders Project Team for a happy hour to discuss how the learnings from this event help them to understand their role in their particular context.
