Summary
The Student & Academic Services Assistant supports the Dean of the Graduate School and the Student & Academic Services team with administrative tasks as assigned. The Student & Academic Services Team is responsible for ensuring students are holistically and equitably supported at The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology in alignment with our school’s mission.
Essential Functions
The Assistant is responsible to complete administrative tasks including:
- Calendaring and meeting scheduling
- Submission of invoices and receipts for payment and reimbursement
- Travel arrangements for faculty and travel classes
- Event planning support
- Data entry, spreadsheet management, data compilation, document creation and upkeep
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must be currently enrolled in a Seattle School degree program, with a preference for an on campus student that could do hybrid work.
- Must be eligible for Federal Work Study.
- Collaborate within and across department lines to achieve common goals.
- Utilize strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Meet multiple deadlines and provide prioritization of duties.
- Technical skills in all Google programs, campus technology, Zoom, and aptitude to learn new technology and programs independently.
- Ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively.
- Actively work to develop and improve knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to become a more effective member of The Seattle School community.
- Familiarity and appreciation for the mission and values of The Seattle School.
Compensation & Benefits
$19.97 per hour (FICA tax exempt when enrolled in classes). When you work at the school you attend, student employees are exempt from FICA taxes (7.65%) when classes are in session. Accordingly, the effective hourly rate is actually $21.63 per hour (for comparison to outside employment).
