The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology presents the first annual performance of “Telling the Story: A Maundy Thursday Experience” on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 6:30pm. Under the creative direction of Dr. Angela Parker, students in our Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Theology & Culture, and Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology programs will perform portions of the Passion Narrative from the Gospel of Mark for your liturgical pleasure.
You will experience scenes from Jesus’ anointing, the Passover meal, the arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane, and the betrayal of Jesus by Peter. We will end our liturgical service in contemplation towards the crucifixion on Good Friday. Since our experience will include song, instrumental accompaniment, and movement, we have designed this program to be an interactive experience. Accordingly, please be aware that our performers will invite your movement, voice, and participation.
As a multi-denominational institution founded on the belief that the presence of our Triune God informs our relational hermeneutic as thought leaders at the intersection of theology, psychology, spirituality, and culture, we invite you to attend and engage anew in the story of the Passion Narrative with us.
Our program is free and open to the public. We encourage you to join our Facebook event for updates and to assist us in anticipating a head count. We look forward to seeing you Thursday, April 13!
