campus security, crime prevention,
and crisis response
New students are given information on crime and sexual assault awareness and prevention during orientation. Continuing students and employees are offered crime and sexual assault safety awareness and prevention programs throughout the year. Appropriate personnel from Facilities Management and Human Resources, as well as applicable academic departments participate accordingly. All new The Seattle School employees are instructed on crime awareness and prevention during orientation. Both orientation programs include a description of The Seattle School security policies and procedures, suggestions on how to avoid becoming a crime victim and procedures for reporting any criminal activity or emergency. Students and employees are encouraged to be responsible for their own security and that of others.
The annual The Seattle School Security Report is sent to all employees and includes a refresher course in all security, safety, and reporting procedures. Students and staff are notified of specific security concerns as they arise throughout the year and appropriate measures are taken to assure continued safety.
